Marinade: Combine marinade ingredients in a bowl. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Cut fillets 1 1/2 to 2 inches wide (about 4-5cm). Place marinade ingredients in a large casserole dish. Coat the salmon fillets in the marinade and place them skinless-side down in the marinade. Marinate for at least 30mins in the fridge.
Remove fillets from marinade and discard the marinade.
Prepare the grill for high heat. Place ALCAN® Non-Stick Ultimate Grilling Foil on grill grate with non-stick (dull) side facing up. Place asparagus in a single row on one end of the foil. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Place fillets skin side up on top of the other end of ALCAN® Non-Stick Ultimate Grilling Foil. Close the grill lid. Cook 1-3mins, depending on thickness of the fillets.
Carefully turn the salmon so that skin side is down. Reduce heat to medium. Close grill lid for another 2-5 mins until salmon is opaque in centre. Then remove from grill. Remove asparagus from grill once it’s cooked through.
